Tesco takes the best of Scottish food and drink to Glasgow

Now in its third year the Tesco ‘Enjoy the Taste of Scotland’ event, themed Get to know Scotland’s Locals’ will bring its celebration of Scottish food and drink to Glasgow’s George Square from 25 to 27 April 2008. Located in the heart of Glasgow, a stone’s throw from one of the UK’s biggest shopping areas, the event is expected to attract over 20,000 people.

Over 100 suppliers from the Shetlands to Dumfries and Galloway will gather in Scotland’s biggest city for an unmissable experience that will literally take visitors on a culinary tour of Scotland, where they will experience the very best Scottish Food and Drink.

Over the FREE three day event visitors can discover, taste and buy direct from the producer, the very best that Scottish food and drink has to offer. Come and experience the personal enthusiasm of those who grow and produce our food; such as the delicious temptations like Mackie’s ice cream, creamy cheeses from the isles, delicious sweet sensations from Buchanans, sumptuous pâtés from Castle MacLellan, premium beers from Inveralmond Brewery, and finely crafted whiskies from Benromach. There will be something to whet everyones’ appetite.

Visitors looking for inspirational culinary creations, can visit the Tesco celebrity cookery theatre where celebrity chefs impart their words of wisdom on how to create the perfect Scottish meal, this is an absolute must for anyone wanting to become a domestic goddess or god. There is also fun to be had in the Great Scottish Cook off and Masterclasses.

And not forgetting the wee ones, the Family Friendly Kids Zone will feature fun food workshops, a kid’s kitchen and exciting hands on activities where kids can even milk the shows very own Daisy the Cow.
