After a successful start at the Tesco Elgin Extra store in May, the Enjoy the Taste of Scotland roadshow arrived at the Perth Extra store on Friday 6th and Saturday 7th August.
Despite a rainy start on the Friday the sun was shining brightly on the Saturday with the show welcoming 5000 visitors across the weekend.
The event was officially opened by Lord Provost John Hulbert and Sarah Mackie, Tesco’s Category Manager Local. Visitors to the show enjoyed a variety of cookery demonstrations from the region's finest local chefs including. In addition the cookery kitchen featured various audience participation activities hosted by Donna Knight, Tesco's Home Economist, and cocktail demonstrations from Roc-a-blu.
As well as the cookery theatre demonstrations, a whole host of Tesco’s locally sourced food and drink suppliers were on hand to sample their wares; from Mackay’s tasty preserves and Inveralmond Brewery’s delicious local ales to Monagham Mushrooms creamy garlic mushrooms and Cosmo Pizza’s freshly-cooked haggis pizza.
The packed schedule also included a dedicated entertainment zone with a 'haggis' shy, Bella the life-size Wiseman's cow, face painting , Scotherbs grow your own herbs and balloon modelling from Mr. B Loon himself!
