Elgin, Tesco Extra

This years' Enjoy the Taste of Scotland roadshow series got off to a great start on Saturday 8th May at the Tesco Elgin store.

With the sun shining, we welcomed over 4000 visitors at the hosting Tesco Extra store to enjoy the very best of the region's food and drink produce.

The event, which was officially opened by Richard Lochhead MSP, welcomed cookery demonstrations from the region's finest chefs including Charles Lockley from the Michein-starred Boath House, as well as Harbour Lights, Restaurant 55 and Chapter One.  In addition the cookery kitchen featured 'Ready Steady Cook' with Moray Firth Radio, kid's smoothies with Donna Knight, Tesco's Home Economist, and whisky cocktails with Gordon & MacPhail.

As well as live demonstrations the event welcomed a whole host of exhibitors who were keen to showcase their local produce including Really Garlicky garlic butter, Mackie's award-winning crisps, Dean's of Huntly shortbread and Speyside Specialities white pudding & haggis.

The packed schedule also included a dedicated entertainment zone with a 'haggis' shy, Bella the life-size Wiseman's cow, face painting and Scotherbs grow your own herbs...with live music from Whigmaleerie.

The next roadshow will take place at Perth Extra on Saturday 7th August so for more information please click on the link above.
